UMF is used by patients through a mobile application. Patients can download the application from Play Store, or App Store . By using the mobile application; as a patient, you can have all of the following benefits:
- Get all your medical information on your mobile, at your finger tips, anytime, anywhere, even without internet.
- Control access to your medical information by optionally turning a ‘login approval’ on or off.
- Share your information as needed with care providers, or family.
- Upload any report and get it properly and easily visible to care providers where it belongs and is expected to be.
- Get health reminders, including medication times.
- Never worry again about losing important medical documents, images, or information.
How to use the UMF Patient Mobile App
- Go to App Store, or Google Play and down UMF patient App
- After successful download and installation, open the app and click on subscribe.
- After your subscription has been approved and you have received your credentials, you can start using the application.
- It is advisable at this stage to fill the clinical enrollment form to prime you baseline medical history.
- After this, the system will automatically update your medical file and medical history if your care is provided in healthcare facilities that are using the Unified Medical File for their electronic medical records management.
- If you visit non-UMF health care facilities, you can use the app to send a request to your health care provider asking him to report his encounter with, his report will be automatically compiled and integrated with the system, OR, you can get the report physically or electronically and uploaded directly to the application to integrate it within your UMF records.
- 7-At any time, you can yourself upload an electronic files, or a scanned document using the function in the app. The document will be integrated and compiled in your UMF file..
- At any time, you can upload a folder of electronic files and request UMF staff, for a fee, to analyze, compile, and integrate your uploaded documents in your medical file.
- At any time, you can upload a large file such as CT/MRI scan and get it integrated within your file; you will never have to worry about storing those DVD or CDs anymore.
